But as many of those stories note, we're in a particularly turbulent time - and in a stage of the race that's very fluid. So in the spirit of perspective, we looked through our NBC News/Wall Street Journal polls from past election cycles and found our favorite nuggets that were -- errrr -- a *little* different than the way things are now. This time five months ago, Jeb Bush led the GOP field, Scott Walker was in second place, and Donald Trump was polling at one percent. This time two years ago, the most popular politicians we surveyed were Chris Christie and Hillary Clinton. And this time four years ago, our NBC News/ Wall Street Journal poll asked respondents if they'd support President Barack Obama or Herman Cain in the general election (Obama led 53 percent to 38 percent.)  Click for more.
